In DAV University North zone Inter University Kho-Kho championship started

In DAV University North Zone Inter-University Kho-Kho (M) Championship 2021-2022 was started. All arrangements were done by physical education and sports department. Around 30 teams from various universities are participating in this championship.

Vice Chancellor Dr. Jasbir Rishi inaugurated this event who was the chief guest of the occasion. Guest of honor Registrar Dr. K.N. Kaul, and Dean Academics, Dr. R.K. Seth were facilitated for gracing the occasion.

In her address to players Dr. Rishi motivated them with words that winning is not everything, but participation and will to win is everything. The opening ceremony started with the March Past. The flags were unfurled followed by DAV National Anthem. In oath ceremony the athletes took an oath pledging to put their best foot forward and to not resort unfair means and try their best to be true to the spirit of honesty and sportsmanship. Organizing secretary and Dy. Director Sports welcomed the participating teams. Torch bearers proceeded for the ceremony of lighting the flame in presence of Chief Guest. Cultural event (Bhangra) was conducted with zeal and zest. After this the North Zone Inter-University Kho-Kho (M) Championship 2021-2022 was declared Open by releasing tri-colored balloons.

On the very first day of championship total 12 matches were conducted. In this matches, RSU (Rajju Bhaiya), Prayagraj won the match by walkover against CBLU, Bhiwani. BSSU, Patiala won the match by walkover against KUMAUN UNIV, Nainital. University of Jammu won by walkover against CSJM, Kanpur, HP University, Shimla won with 7 points against SHBU, Prayagraj. IIMTU, Meerut won by walkover against University of Allahabad, CCSU, Meerut won with 1 innings and 10 points against CDLU, Sirsa, University of Lucknow won by walkover against Cluster University, Jammu. MD University, Rohtak won with 1 innings and 18 points against RSU, Prayagraj. Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar won with 8 points against BSSU, Patiala. DAV University, Jalandhar won with 1 inning and 7 points against University of Jammu. Kurukshetra University Kurukshetra won the match with 1 inning and 9 points Against HP University, Shimla and Dr. BRAU, Agra won the match with 5 points against University Of Lucknow.

DAV University’s Environment Education Programme sees ten-year-old give tough competition to senior contestants

Ten-year-old Aatman Jamwal proved that age is just a number as he gave tough competition to his much senior counterparts at a three-day Environment Education Programme organized by DAV University. Aatman, the youngest contestant, is studying in the fourth grade at Delhi Public School, Jalandhar.
