Jalandhar: DAV University Jalandhar organized the International Yoga day on its campus at Jalandhar. The event started with the DAV anthem. The department of Physical Education and Sports under the guidance of Dr. Yeshbeer Singh, Deputy Director Sports made this event successful by conducting it and following the covid-19 protocol.
In DAV Yog Sandesh, Padma Shree awardee and DAV University Chancellor Sh. Punam Suri ji urged the need to address mental and physical health issues in the present circumstances marred by covid repercussions.
Dr. Jasbir Rishi, Vice-Chancellor (officiating), Dr. K N Kaul, Registrar (officiating) and Dean Academic (officiating) Dr. R K Seth and other faculty members including non-teaching staff participated enthusiastically in the event.
The members of the physical education department Dr. Yeshbeer Singh, Dr. C P Singh, Rohit Chauhan and Dr. Manju Devrari demonstrated the benefits of various yogic postures and their significant role in the psycho-social development of the masses and the individual.
The vice chancellor Dr. Jasbir Rishi advised everyone to practice yoga on a regular basis as breathing and asanas led to holistic effect on body, mind and soul.
The event was also broadcasted online on social media. It was visualized by more than 800 participants nationwide and from almost 300 school and colleges overboard. As mention earlier, the participants were from various states like Punjab, Haryana, UP, Delhi, Uttrakhand, Bihar and Jharkhand.
