Six NCC cadets of DAV University have been selected for participating in the Pre-Republic Day Camp. The students, Virat Kalia, Nitin Dhiman, Vishal Kumar, Deepika, Shruity, Amisha Thakur underwent various physical tests prior to their selection.

The Department of Commerce and Business Management of DAV University organized a webinar on 21st May 2020. The webinar was attended by more than 75 faculty members and research scholars from across India.

Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, DAV University conducted Board of Studies meeting on 14 th March, 2020 which was chaired by Dr. RChatrath, Dean, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences. 

Professor of Physics at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, Dr. Atul Khanna delivered a lecture on “Landmark Discoveries in Physics that Shaped the World” and provided information to the students about career opportunities for science graduates in India.

Different psychologists held deliberations on the role of positive psychology in promoting and maintaining the mental health of society. The experts participating in a two-day “National Conference and Workshop on Psychological Disorders in Conflicting World” organized by DAV University said that positive psychological traits inculcate strength among individuals to stand up against adverse circumstances.

A workshop on digital marketing was organized by Anubhav –the CBM Club of the Department of Commerce and Business Management on 22-2-2020.

Consultancy Cell of DAV University, in association with Sports Goods Foundation of India (SGFI) conducted a Workshop on Digital Marketing for the Sports Goods Industry in Jalandhar. The purpose of the workshop was to sensitize the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) about the importance and technicalities of digital marketing.

DAV University has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with MSME Technology Development Centre to facilitate practical training of the students pursuing mechanical engineering at the University. The MoU terms include the mutual utilization of the research and development resources available at both the organisations.

A two-day national workshop on writing and publishing a quality research paper in Commerce and Business Management was organized on February 8-9 by the Faculty of Business Studies at DAV University.

"To be a master in sports commentary for television and radio, one has to be the master of language and pronunciation" said the renowned sports commentator Mr. Kulwinder Mahay in a workshop organized by the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication on Electronic media and sports commentary.

DAV University organised a rally to spread awareness about women empowerment. The rally was an extension of the National Girl Child Week commemorated by the University. The events were organised under the aegis of the Department of Education.

The Indian Newspaper Industry started with the newspaper 'Bengal Gazette' on Jan 29,1780 in Bengal. This year, this industry completed 240 years of its existence on Jan 29, 2020.

The Business Development Centre under the Consultancy Cell of DAV University organized interaction of the business management students from the CBME Department with the representatives of two industry associations viz. Sports Goods Foundation of India (SGFI) and Foundation for MSME Clusters (FMC).

Eminent educationist Prof RC Sobti emphasized on increasing the quality of education and making education profitable for the society. Dr. Sobti, who was awarded the Padma Shri for his contribution to education was speaking at the Faculty Development Program conducted by DAV University on the importance of assessment and accreditation in higher education. The program was organized by the University's Internal Quality Assessment Cell.

DAV University, Jalandhar has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) for research and promotion of renewable energy in Punjab.

Noted Punjabi singer Gurnam Bhullar enthralled students at Jashan-e-Raina, the hostel night organized by the students at DAV University. Known for songs like Diamond di Jhanjhar, Pagal and Jhalla, Gurnam performed for more than an hour.

DAV University in collaboration with National Cadet Corps (NCC) organised a seminar against drugs at the University. The seminar included an interactive session with youth who gave up their dependence of drugs.  

Police DAV Public School, Jalandhar won overall trophy at Youth Flair – an inter-school competition aiming at providing students a platform to showcase their talent.

A corporate guest lecture was organized by the Department of commerce, business management and economics on 19-11-2019.  Mr. Parminder Sandhu M.D Next Care, India addressed the students regarding the burning concept in the field of marketing that is digital marketing. 

Noted film personalities Anwar Jamaal, Yashpal Sharma, Ravi Chauhan and Ravinder Kaul set the ball of DAVU Film Festival 2019 at DAV University. The three-day film festival and film appreciation workshop is being organized by the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, DAV University.

Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, DAV University is organizing its first ever Film Festival from November 18-20, 2019. This event will be attended by many renowned personalities from the field of film making and acting. The students attending all three days during this event will be presented with certificates duly signed by former FTII Director Sh. Tripurari Sharan, our overall coordinator Anwar Jamaal (renowned Documentary Filmmaker), Punjabi Director Gurwinder Singh and Vice Chancellor, DAV University. 

DAV University organized a guest lecture-cum-motivational training session for the students pursuing different courses. The session “Attitude is everything” was organized under the aegis of The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University.
