Report of 4th Annual Sports Meet 2016-2017

Two day, 4th Annual Sports Meet was concluded in DAV University, The Chief guest Mrs J.Kackria , Director Public School DAV College Management Committee ,New Delhi presented the trophies and medals to the winners. Occasion was graced by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr AK Paul, Registrar  Dr Rekha Kalia Bhardwaj. Chief  Guest Mrs J. Kackria assured that level of Sports in the University will be raised to the Sky height with the contribution of Chancellor DAV University Dr Punam Suriji.

DAV Univ successfully conducted two big tournaments namely NZ AIU Kho-Kho(M) Championship from 11th – 13th Nov 2016 and DAV Nationals for girls from 18 th – 20th Nov 2016.

Apart from these, Cross country race was also organized on the occasion of sports day i.e 29th Aug 2016 with the message of FITNESS RUN in which around 150 students participated.

Faculty Development Programe on Psychometric Testing at DAV University

A one week Faculty Development Programme on “Psychometric Testing” was formally inaugurated at DAV University, Jalandhar today. The programme, an initiative of the department of psychology, aims to teach counsellors, psychologists, teachers, teacher trainees, and other professionals about the administration, scoring, and interpretation of various psychometric tests like intelligence, personality, aptitude, attitude and projective tests.

DAV University girl cadet Riya Dhadhwal won three gold medals in various competitions at the Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) held at Ropar in Punjab. She won gold medal in writing, tug of war and beat anchor. She was also designated as Under Officer (UO).

Students and staff at DAV University held a function on January 12 to celebrate Lohri on the campus. The function was presided over by the Vice-Chancellor Prof (Dr) Rakesh Kumar Mahajan. Dr Mahajan accompanied by Mr Rajan Gupta, Executive Director, Dr Sushma Arya, Registrar, Dr Jasbir Rishi, Dean (Academics) lit the bonfire while groundnuts were distributed among those present at the occasion.

DAV University to have more student clubs

The Vice-Chancellor of DAV University, Prof Rakesh Kumar Mahajan announced to set up various students clubs. These clubs would provide students a platform to nurture their hidden talent. Prof Mahajan, while addressing the students, said that academics and research should be complemented by co-curricular activities.

DAV University and HDFC launch online fee payment gateway

DAV University has launched Payment Gateway to facilitate payment of University fee online. The portal launched in collaboration with HDFC Bank is in conformity with the Prime Minister’s Digital India initiative. The portal was launched by Prof (Dr) Rakesh Kumar Mahajan, Vice-Chancellor, DAV University and Mr Iqbal Singh, Zonal Head, HDFC, Amritsar.

DAV University bubbled up with great enthusiasm as it celebrated Echelon, its annual event of Hostel Night on 22nd November 2017. The occasion was a great moment of rejoicing for the hostellers of the university who were given an opportunity to display their extraordinary talent in various cultural events. 

DAV University organised a Blood Donation Camp on the University campus

DAV University organised a Blood Donation Camp on the University campus on 25.11.17. Nearly 100 blood units were collected in the camp and 200 students have registered for emergency blood bank. The camp was organized in collaboration with LIONS CLUB and Civil Hospital Jalandhar.
